Bring your best friend. Walks from the door, dogs in the pub, dog-friendly rooms.
The Station Inn has always been a dog-friendly pub. We know that for many of our guests, a trip to the Yorkshire Dales wouldn't be the same without their dog beside them — on the fells, in the pub, and curled up in the room at the end of the day. That's exactly how we think it should be.
We have dog-friendly rooms available with space for up to two dogs per room. Dogs are welcome throughout the pub, and you'll often find a few locals by the fire keeping the regulars company. We provide water bowls and there's a large car park for easy access with muddy paws.
The Station Inn is surrounded by some of the finest dog walking in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. You can set off directly from our door without needing to drive anywhere:
Ribblehead Viaduct circular — a gentle walk around the famous viaduct with stunning views, ideal for dogs of all ages
Whernside — the highest of the Yorkshire Three Peaks starts from our doorstep, with open fell walking that dogs love
Batty Moss — explore the historic foundations of the railway workers' shanty towns right behind the inn
Chapel-le-Dale — a quiet lane walk leading towards Ingleborough with river crossings along the way
Salt Lake Quarry Nature Reserve — just across the road, a peaceful spot for wildlife and a gentle stroll
The open fell land, quiet lanes and common ground around Ribblehead make it one of the best areas in the Dales for off-lead walking. After a day on the hills, there's nothing better than settling into the pub with your dog at your feet and a homemade meal on the table.
Dog-friendly rooms — up to two dogs per room for a small fee
Dogs welcome in the pub — settle in by the fire
Water bowls — always available
Large car park — easy access, no need to carry muddy dogs through reception
Walks from the door — no driving required
Outdoor space — beer garden with viaduct views

“Called in for a much needed pint after a lovely walk with my dog, the staff were so warm and welcoming and on the plus side your allowed your dog at the pub even inside. Many thanks and I will be returning. Keep up the good work and see you soon.”

“We had an overnight stay at the Station Inn in December. The inn is at a stunning location and is a lovely, traditional Yorkshire pub. The food was really good and they have a great selection of local ales. Without doubt, the most dog friendly pub I’ve ever visited - they couldn’t do enough for our furry family member :) The owners and staff were without exception, very friendly and welcoming - we’re really looking forward to our next visit.”

“I've been here a few times and also stayed over camping. I love the station. Good beer and reasonable prices and nice food. The only reason this review is a 4 star is because of my recent visit so the young lad who is staff was a total nuisance coming over to us every 2 mins wouldn't leave us alone for our quiet time. He also insulted me by saying if our dog got noisy he would put him in the freezer not funny that. I will come back but I don't want him anywhere near me.”

“Stayed for two nights in the car park in my motorhome. Ate in the pub on both evenings and food excellent and reasonably priced. Tables are on a first come, first served basis but didn’t have a problem getting a table. Dog friendly. Fabulous views of the Viaduct and surrounding area. The Ribblehead Circular walks start from here too. Would recommend and will return in the future.”

“Excellent little pub. Varied and delicious menu. We had steak and ale pie which was full of meat and a full pie, no naff pastry topper, and chilli chips which were very tasty. Staff were absolutely lovely and very accommodating. Very dog friendly place as well, would definitely recommend”

“Such a friendly place, whether you're stopping off on a walk, staying the night with a motorhome or just to visit for dinner. And they have rooms too. Didn't see those though. Couldn't be more dog friendly. Good choice of real ales (a dark one would be a good addition though, in this weather) dog snacks, fantastic food and even dog meals. Dogs weren't just tolerated they were made to feel welcome, as were we. A fantastic view, next to the station for easy access by train, lovely food. I tried the chicken madras and it was very good. Motorhomes can park for free! As long as you buy something, which is fantastic. A clean toilet to use, fresh water supply, waste facility - highly recommended.”
